Thordis’s work has been nominated for the Nordic Council’s Literature Prize, the Icelandic Literature Prize, the Icelandic Women’s Literature Prize, Maístjarnan – The Icelandic Poetry Prize and won The Jón úr Vör Poetry Prize. She was the 2019-20 Resident Playwright at The Reykjavík City Theatre.
She is a member of the writers’ collective Impostor Poets.
